Inkatech (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a software agency based in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using our website (inkatech.co.za) or interacting with our Facebook Page, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Details you give us — your name and contact details when you submit an enquiry, request a quote, place an order, or message us.
  • Facebook interactions — when you comment on or message our Facebook Page, we receive your public name and the content of your comment/message so we can respond.
  • Usage data — anonymous analytics about how our website is used (e.g. pages visited), to improve the site.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries, comments and messages, and provide our services.
  • To prepare quotes, proposals and invoices you request.
  • To improve our website and services.

Facebook Page automation

We use an automated assistant (powered by OpenAI) to help reply to public comments on our Facebook Page and to post conversation-starting comments on our own posts. Automated replies are for general information and convenience; sensitive matters are routed to a real person. We only process the public comment content and commenter name that Facebook provides for the purpose of replying.

Service providers we use

We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers who help us operate:

  • Google Firebase — hosting and secure database.
  • Google Analytics & Google Ads — cookies that measure how visitors use our website and which ads bring enquiries. They don't record your name or contact details. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's cookie settings.
  • Meta (Facebook) — Page messaging and comments.
  • OpenAI — generating draft replies (comment text is processed to produce a response).
  • Resend — sending our email notifications.
  • PayFast — secure payment processing (if you choose to pay online).

We never sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep enquiry, comment and order records only as long as needed to serve you and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete them.

Your rights & data deletion

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. To request deletion of your data (including any data received from your Facebook interactions), email nkanyiso@inkatech.co.za or WhatsApp 074 883 9166with the subject “Data deletion request”. We will confirm and complete your request within 30 days.
