Questions, answered
Do parents have to download an app from the Play Store?+
No. SchoolNest opens in the phone's browser and can be added to the home screen in one tap, so it works on any Android or iPhone without an app store.
What if a parent doesn't have a smartphone?+
The teacher can sign the child in and out on the classroom register instead, so every child is still recorded.
Does it work when the internet drops?+
Yes. The apps keep working offline and catch up as soon as the connection is back.
Will it carry our school's name and logo?+
Yes. Parents see your school's name, logo and colours. SchoolNest stays in the background.
We already use WhatsApp groups. Do we have to stop?+
No. Post a notice once in SchoolNest and share it to your WhatsApp groups with one tap, with a link back to the app, so parents gradually move across.
What about POPIA and children's information?+
Only your staff and each child's own parents can see their details, and PINs are stored scrambled (hashed), never in plain text. How information is handled is set out in your agreement.
How long does setup take?+
Usually 1–2 weeks once we have your class lists, staff names and logo. We load the children and parents for you and train your staff.
